Watching TV the way it should be

Okay, I understand a bit better why it's highly acclaimed.

Why is everything in the dark? Like seriously, did AMC skimp on the lighting budget or something?

"Breaking Bad" is one of those shows everyone talks about, particularly in how amazing it is in relation to the current landscape of television. But I don't get it.
